Where do you source your wood?

All woods are purchased locally and all furnishing is made from local trees from southern Ontario.

Some foreign hardwoods are used in cutting boards for their natural colours as accents but the bulk of all pieces are from domestic hardwoods.

How do I care for my wood products?

All furnishings and decor have a hardwax and oil finish derived from natural oils and waxes and create a piece that is resistant to water, drinks and food juices..  They can be easily wiped down with a damp cloth.

All cutting boards are finished with Ted Tables board wax, made with local beeswax and mineral oil, which can be reapplied when the wood has a dry look or feel.

What is the benefit of endgrain?

End grain cutting boards use the natural grains in the wood to help keep a clean and sanitary cutting board with less signs of wear.

Knives used on endgrain cutting boards will stay sharper longer as they are dividing the end grains as opposed to slicing across the grains.  A good way to think about it is to picture running a knife down a paint brush, with end grain the knife is travelling down through the end of the bristles where, once the knife finishes a pass, the bristles can move back into place. With face or edge grain, in which you are cutting across the face or edge of the paintbrush, the knife edge is sliding across the bristles, dulling the knife with each pass as well as cutting apart the wood structure.

Can I chose the colour of my paint or resin?

All metal parts are tig welded and powder coated for a long lasting and highly durable finish. With powder coating a wide variety of colours and textures can be used.

Resin can be tinted from clear to fully opaque and in any colour to fill small voids or stabilize structurally unsound wood.

What are the prices for custom furnishings?

All custom orders are priced with a range of options to suite your budget. Each piece is created by hand and finished with specifications provided by the customer.  Every piece that is custom ordered will be designed and finished to fit your space perfectly.

How long do i have to wait for a piece?

Once a price has been set and deposit has been received I source the wood if I do not already have it in my inventory and let the wood climates to an indoor environment.  Most projects are started 3 weeks after a deposit has been received and build times can range from 1-3 weeks. Any custom order will be updated with build times and delivery estimates.
